Marco Davis is the secondary antagonist of Scream 7 and the fourteenth revealed Ghostface killer.[1]

He was portrayed by Ethan Embry.

Biography

Early Life

During Marco's early life, he once had a job as a Google security specialist, which he states is the reason why he is so easily able to make AI deep-fakes of Stu Macher, due to him having a background in AI at the company.

Marco had managed to secure a job early in the 2010s, presumably 2011, as an orderly at Fallbrook Psychiatric Hospital, where he eventually attained the position of supervisor. After the New York Murders in 2023, whilst working at the hospital, Marco would eventually meet two individuals by the name of Jessica Bowden, and Karl Gibbs, both of whom were patients admitted to the hospital. Over time, the three of them would create a scheme and plan to murder Sidney Prescott in front of her daughter, Tatum Evans, to recreate the same trauma Sidney had went through originally, but this time through Sidney's daughter, creating a new generation of trauma, and hopefully continue the loop. Marco's reasons behind this were similar to that of his accomplices, being an obsessive fan of Sidney Prescott and Stab, believing Sidney was past her prime as a Final Girl, and wanting to be a part of Tatum being passed the torch of final girl upon Sidney's death. Before the Pine Grove Murders, Jessica had already left the hospital, though the way she left is unknown, whether she had escaped or was declared competent enough to leave.

A few weeks before the Pine Grove Murders, Marco had assisted in Karl escaping the hospital, who would then go on to stalk Sidney Prescott and her family. During this time, Marco and Jessica had come up with the idea to create AI deep-fakes of Stu Macher, in an attempt to torture Sidney psychologically, making her believe that Stu could actually be alive, and may be hunting her and Tatum down.

The Pine Grove Murders (2026)

A few years after the events of Scream (2022), the Macher house in Woodsboro, has been vacated by Amber Freeman's parents and become a center of attention once more, now a rentable air BNB. On the night of November 19th 2026, Marco snuck into the Macher house, which was currently being rented by two individuals, Scott and Madison. Whilst nobody was currently in the living room of the house, Marco takes the place of the Ghostface animatronic. Madison then walks over to what she believes to be the animatronic which is really Marco. Scott then comes behind Madison in an attempt to scare her, but is struck in the face by her. Scott then notices something is off about the animatronics motion sensor, particularly how it moves in a very un-mechanical way. Upon noticing, Marco lunges out and proceeds to stab Scott twice in the chest and then once through the side of his skull in view of Madison.

This prompts Madison to attempt to escape Marco which leads to a scuffle near the entrance, Madison continuously attempts to get up the stairs of the foyer, but is dragged by Marco. Madison eventually makes it up with Marco in pursuit of her, and they get into another scuffle, which leads to Marco falling over the railing of the upstairs level, back down into the foyer. Madison is also pushed off but manages to grab onto the chandelier and starts swaying back and fourth. But, she is unable keep her grip and falls. Marco then this points his knife upward which causes Madison to be stabbed deeply in the abdomen after falling, causing her to be immobilized. Marco then begins pouring gasoline all over the lower floor of the house, and on Madison. He then lights a match and throws it on Madison, burning her alive. Marco then exits the house which is now engulfed in flames, and presumably proceeds from California back to Indiana.

After returning to Indiana, a few hours from Pine Grove, Marco proceeds to go to his job as an orderly at Fallbrook Psychiatric Hospital, where he's speculated to have created AI deep-fakes of Stu Macher, as well as other Ghostfaces, with the help of Jessica Bowden, having also possibly pulled Stu's morgue files, regarding whether or not his body did ever ended up at the Woodsboro morgue, whilst he was in Woodsboro. It's unclear if Marco did this before killing Scott and Madison, or afterwards.

On November 21st, whilst Marco is working at the psychiatric hospital, Gale Weather and Sidney Prescott show up. Gale and Sidney both wonder if they can see the room of Karl Gibbs, who had died the previous day. Marco is somewhat hesitant at first about showing them the room, but very easily 'gives in'. As Sidney and Gale look at the room from the doorway, Sidney pulls out her phone and shows Marco a picture of the AI deep-fake of Stu Macher, asking Marco if he's seen him before. Marco then proceeds to call him 'John' as in 'John Doe'. Marco explains to Sidney and Gale that 'John' was a patient at the hospital, and had been admitted there in the late 90s, having the scars on his face from an incident involved with his head, which is why he was originally sent there. Marco states he doesn't fully know what had happened to 'John' as it was, "ahead of his time", as an orderly at the psychiatric hospital. He then proceeds to say that 'John' was released a few days earlier from the hospital, which could contradict what he just stated. This causes Sidney and Gale to believe that Stu could very much be alive, and leave the hospital in a hurry, which is exactly what Marco had been wanting.

Later that night, possibly Marco and Jessica continue to torture Sidney with the deep-faked videos of Stu Macher. One of which shows Stu outside of Parker's Tavern, owned by Chloe Parker's parent's, threatening to kill Sidney's daughter, Tatum Evans. This causes Sidney to panic and attempt to get to the tavern, but her car won't unlock, causing her to have to run. Tatum gets in the car with her boyfriend Ben Brown after being told to leave the tavern by Sidney. Tatum gets in the car, and sees Ben testing AI deep-fakes of himself into the likeness of Stu Macher on his laptop, causing her to hit him in the face with it. Tatum runs out of the car and then sees Ghostface (Marco) coming around the corner after her, she begins running and Marco follows in close pursuit.

Tatum is able to hide behind a sign out of view of Marco, and is then approached by her boyfriend Ben Brown. Whilst Tatum and Ben embrace for a quick second before Marco comes from behind Ben and stabs him in the neck once. Marco then begins to rapidly stab Ben in the abdomen, similar to that of Wayne Bailey in Scream VI, which kills Ben. Tatum then pushes Marco through a storefront window, which causes the alarm to sound. Tatum then begins running again and is pursued by Marco. Tatum hides inside Sidney's 'Little Latte' coffee shop, as Marco looks around outside. Marco then looks through the windows of the shop but can't see anything due to Tatum hiding at the bottom of the door. Marco is walking away but then Sidney proceeds to call Tatum, which allows Marco to hear the ringtone. Marco pretends to walk away which prompts Tatum out of hiding after Sidney tells her there's a gun in her office safe. As Tatum starts walking towards Sidney's office she hears tapping on glass behind her. Tatum looks behind her and sees Marco standing there.

Tatum begins running towards Sidney's office and Marco enters the code for the building. Tatum manages to get inside Sidney's office and bars the door shut. Marco then begins pounding on the door in and attempt to get inside the office. Tatum retrieves the gun from the safe, as Sidney watches through the security cameras, telling her where Ghostface is. Sidney then yells at Tatum to shoot through the wall which in turn strikes Marco in the chest several times. Tatum then exits the office and is about to shoot Marco in the head but is then grabbed as the gun falls away. Marco and Tatum get into a scuffle where Tatum is about to exit the coffee shop, but is greeted by a second Ghostface standing in the doorway.

The third act begins with Sidney going to her house to see highly realistic AI deepfakes of Stu Macher, Nancy Loomis, Roman Bridger, and Dewey Riley, all orchestrated by Marco and Jessica. Sidney goes in her backyard to see Tatum tied up in a chair with duct-tape, similar to that of Steven Orth or Charlie Walker from Scream (1996) and Scream 4. Marco is standing behind Tatum, still masked with a knife to Tatum's throat. Sidney proceeds to drop her gun but had a second in her waistband. Marco unmasks himself, and states he, like Karl would've been dead if Tatum had actually aimed for his head, and that, "You always gotta shoot em' in the head. Isn't that right... Stu?" As the other Ghostface walks in and puts a knife to Tatum's throat, as Marco enters the garage to the right of everything, quoting Stu's line from the original, "I'll be right back." Marco then drags out Sidney's husband, Mark Evans, from the garage, where he had been attacked earlier that afternoon. The other Ghostface unmasks and reveals they aren't Stu, but rather, Jessica. Mark has a sharp tool from the garage on his person, though, and proceeds to slowly cut Tatum's leg restraints. Tatum eventually shoots up from her chair banging her head on Jessica's chin, causing Jessica to fall. Which prompts Sidney to take the secondary gun from her waistband, and quickly shoot Marco once in the head, instantly killing him.
